Your Child’s First Visit

A warm welcome for you and your little one.

A first dental visit is a big little milestone. Whether your child is curious, excited, or feeling unsure, there’s room for all of it here.

At Honeymint, we want your family to feel comfortable from the beginning. This is a chance to get acquainted, ask questions, and start building a relationship that grows alongside your child.

A Dental Home, From the Start

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit within six months of your baby’s first tooth appearing, and no later than their first birthday.

Starting early gives your family a familiar place for preventive care, guidance, and support through every stage of childhood. And if your child is already older, we’re happy to welcome them whenever you’re ready.

What to Expect

Your child’s first visit is about getting to know them and their smile. We’ll talk about their health history, any concerns you have, and how you care for their teeth at home.

We’ll explain what we’re doing in simple, child-friendly language, with care tailored to your child’s age and needs. There’s no expectation for them to arrive knowing what to do. We’re here to help them feel more comfortable, one step at a time.

Helping Your Child Feel Comfortable

Before the appointment, keep conversations about the dentist positive and simple. You might tell your child, “We’re going to meet someone who helps us take care of your teeth.”

If your child has had a difficult dental experience or needs additional support, let us know beforehand. Understanding what helps them feel at ease gives us a thoughtful place to start.

Before You Arrive

Please have your child’s health history, medication list, and insurance information ready. If you have a referral or previous dental X-rays, let our team know.

Have questions about paperwork or who can accompany your child? Contact us before your visit so we can help you prepare.

Billing & Insurance

We know the practical details matter, too. Our team can help answer questions about insurance, payment, and the cost of your child’s recommended care.

Contact your Honeymint office before your appointment to discuss your coverage and payment options.

When Something Unexpected Happens

If your child has a dental injury or an urgent dental concern, contact your Honeymint office promptly. Our team can help you understand the next step.

We Can’t Wait to Meet You

Bring your little one and your questions. We’re looking forward to getting to know your family.
